
PACE Center for Girls is a nationally recognized 501(c)3 day program offering year round counseling, academic and life skills services for girls ages 12-17 who are at-risk of entering the juvenile justice system, failing or dropping out of school, running away or experiencing difficulty at home.
The PACE program is designed to meet the unique needs of adolescent at-risk girls by providing gender specific programming to build self esteem and confidence. PACE empowers girls to gain their education and reduce their chances of being involved in or to be victims of crime or violence. At the request of local community leaders and elected officials, PACE was established in Broward County in 1992 and in 19 years has served over 1,700 girls and their families.

PACE Center for Girls Broward will kick off its 20th Anniversary year at the 10th Annual "A Taste of Italy" dinner and wine auction on Tuesday, June 5 at Casa D'Angelo Ristorante. For the tenth consecutive year, Denise and Chef Angelo Elia have reserved their restaurant at 1201 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale for a fabulous Tuscan dinner party to benefit PACE Broward. "Denise and Angelo are strong supporters of PACE," said Mark Snead, Chair of PACE Broward Board of Directors. "As hosts of A Taste of Italy they have created a signature event that has already raised over $500,000 to benefit the girls. This event is truly a gift from their hearts."
In honor of PACE's 20th anniversary, we are dedicating this dinner to Bob Radice, who over a twenty year span, has played an important role in the development, growth and sustainability of PACE.

On April 19, 2012 we had 180 guests observing six master chefs working with their "volunteer" assistants in the kitchen at Hugh' Culinary. This year's cook-off was frenetic fun, providing delicious tasting dishes from each team. Please join us in thanking all those that made this event possible.

On February 24 over 180 guests came together at the Sheratone Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel to honor PACE Broward and our girls who are working so very hard to overcome thier challenges and be the best that they can be.
PACE girls Yvette and Caina (left to right in photo) presented a special gift to Elliot Borkson, Leo Goodwin Foundation Trustee. Mark Snead (right), PACE Broward Board Chair, shared the news that a tree will be planted at the Center in the name of the foundation in appreciation of their 19 years of support!
On October 22, PACE Broward hosted Keepin Up the PACE with Motown at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club. The monies raised this year netted over $78,000, which could not have been attained without the generous support of our sponsors, auction donors and guests who attended the event.

PACE Center for Girls Broward recently honored its Class of 2011 at a graduation held at the African American Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale. Aggie Pappas, PACE Broward Executive Director, presented 21 graduates to family members, PACE supporters, and community partners in attendance. Ms. Pappas thanked the graduates for giving PACE "the faith and trust to be a part of your amazing transformation from 'adolescent girls' into 'beautiful young women' of tomorrow."
