PACE Center for Girls, Inc. is a community-based, non-residential prevention, diversion, and early intervention program in the state of Florida. PACE serves over 2,000 girls each year in 17 locations around the state as an alternative to incarceration by providing therapeutic support services, individualized and group counseling, a gender-specific life management curriculum, academic education, individualized attention, parental involvement, community service and 3 years of follow up transition services.
PACE supports the mission of the Department of Juvenile Justice by preventing juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, academic failure, and welfare dependency.
PACE reduces the number of girls entering the juvenile justice system and reduces the significant long term costs associated with teen pregnancy, substance abuse, dropping out of school and unemployment and long term economic dependency.

This wonderful event, co-hosted by Jodi and her neighbor Kathy Acquilino will benefit PACE in more ways than one! It's ALWAYS a benefit whenever "friends of PACE" gather to share stories and talk about the wonderful work of PACE. But with this event, PACE will benefit from all proceeds! Everyone attending is asked to bring either $20, OR a "girly-girl" type gift for the PACE Point Store. (See the "PACE Point Store" story below!)
Jodi reports she has plenty of room...and she adds, "The MORE the Merrier!" BUT, so they can be sure to have plenty of "tapas y comida," everyone is urged to RSVP in advance. Just click the RSVP button below and give us the names AND EMAIL ADDRESSES of everyone attending. OR you may call PACE (813-739-0410 x 309) and tell Bill Young, Special Projects Manager, that you would love to attend.
REMEMBER, it's imperative we have NAMES and EMAIL ADDRESSES of everyone attending.

The Tampa chapter of the national Zontas organization has adopted PACE and representatives bring delicious cupcakes for ALL the PACE girls at every Level Ceremony. The Zontas—dedicated to the advancement of women locally and globally—also bring a yellow rose to every PACE girl who has had a birthday in the preceding month. This wonderful volunteer service to PACE is just one of the thousands of projects the Zontas have sponsored in their 73+ years of service to Tampa—including childcare centers and the Zonta Boys and Girls Club of Tampa. The girls love their cupcakes and flowers, but also appreciate their smiles and birthday hugs and wishes!

It was so obvious that Charnisha was in trouble, even her cousin noticed it. Her cousin just happens to work across the street from PACE and told Charnisha and her mom about this “school for girls.” Charnisha also knew she needed a change…after all, she was about to repeat the 7th grade FOR THE THIRD TIME. After just a month at PACE, Charnisha says she realized how unhappy and “frustrated” she had been…and realized that frustration was what caused the fighting and skipping and outbursts and bad choices. But after just a month at PACE, Charnisha received FIVE separate awards including Girl of the Month, Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance. She brought home five certificates—and an armful of flowers. Her mom, she says, “laughed and cried at the same time.” She will soon be caught up with her credits and will leave PACE for High School where she will enter at the right age for a freshman. She—and her mom—are thrilled!
Thanks to a $5,000 Technology Grant from Wells Fargo Advisors, computers at PACE, Hillsborough just got a little faster. Our grant request to Wells Fargo outlined some of computer infrastructure problems we were having…and they came to our rescue. Three high speed, Microsoft Windows 7® Dell towers and two high-speed Dell laptops were purchased with the grant. In addition, 16 heavy duty two-way radios were procured, assuring quick and reliable communications throughout the facility. Thanks to Wells Fargo for making PACE both safer and more efficient.
