PACE Institute is the division of PACE Center for Girls that advocates for girls nationwide, provides training, technical assistance, specialized tools, and consulting for girl-serving organizations throughout the United States. PACE Institute clients include local, state and federal governments, not-for-profit organizations, for profit corporations, and communities. The Institute packages twenty years of success with girls in PACE Centers, with product offerings designed to promote successful gender responsive practices. PACE Institute has partnered with a variety of organizations in more than 30 states to increase the effectiveness of girls programming and influence juvenile justice at all levels of policy making. A research and evaluation initiative is planned for the future. Because of the increase in the numbers of girls entering the juvenile justice system nationwide, juvenile justice programs, traditionally designed to meet the needs of boys, have been challenged. In the publication by the American Bar Association and National Bar Association, Justice by Gender-The Lack of Appropriate Prevention, Diversion and Treatment Alternatives for Girls in the Juvenile Justice System cited the tremendous increase in female delinquency cases and identified it as a national emergency.
