Over 600 guests gathered for a fun and fashionable evening at the second annual LTD_VIPS"Love That Dress!" on September 1 at Embassy Suites in Estero. Christin Collins, event founder and chairwoman, and her dynamic volunteer committee executed an event that collected over 2,000 dresses and raised $70,000 for PACE Center for Girls of Lee County. The results of the sold-out event more than doubled funds raised at last year's inaugural dress party.

Due to the generosity of many sponsors, 100% of donations and sales from "Love That Dress!" will help further the mission of PACE. Special thanks goes out to our major sponsors: White House Black Market, Embassy Suites, Norman Love Confections, Waterman Broadcasting, Comcast, Lamar Advertising, The News-Press Media Group, For The Bride, Red Door Studio, Get Smart Women and 96.9 WINK FM. March 22, Wendy Newman, Miss Florida 1978, and Jason’s Deli partnered to bring etiquette training to girls served by the PACE Center for Girls of Lee County. To offer a formal atmosphere for the special occasion, the PACE Center transformed its cafeteria into a spring themed afternoon tea with a plated meal. Jason’s Deli donated mini croissant sandwiches, pasta salad, desserts and tea for 50 PACE girls. Newman, who offers this training annually for PACE Lee, guided the girls in practicing table manners, conversational charm, redirecting from uncomfortable subjects and how to be a good hostess.

A delightful time was had by all the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre for our second annual Grande Dames Tea on March 23, 2010. It was a special afternoon as we joined girls from the PACE Center for Girls of Lee County in honoring Jeanne Bochette, Helen Hendry and Veronica Shoemaker who have played major roles in our community’s history through decades of service, philanthropy and helping others.

Under the leadership of co-chairs Dena Geraghty and Andrea Prather and presented by our title sponsor, Chico’s, the event raised $20,000 to support the vital programs at PACE Lee.

PACE Lee greatly thanks our community for Honoring the Female Spirit!
