     REACH Program

REACH is an outreach counseling service that focuses on preventing girls between the ages of 10-17 from becoming involved with the juvenile justice system through the development of pro-social skills and training in responsible behavior.

Services:

REACH offers the following services to girls and their families:

  • Group Activities/Counseling
  • One on One Sessions with a Reach Counselor
  • The opportunity for the girl to learn about her community through community service
  • Field Trips to various venues in the Orlando area for the girl

Parental and Girl Involvement:

The involvement of the parent and the girl in the services that REACH offers is vital to the success of the girl and family. Below are a few things the parents and girl are involved in on a routine basis:

  • At minimum, the parent/guardian has bi-weekly contact with the girl's Reach Counselor (via phone or in person)
  • At minimum, the girl has weekly contact with her Reach Counselor (via phone or in person)
  • The assigned Reach counselor will makes visits to the girl's school and home.-

 As well as any girl and family who attends one of the following schools:

  • PACE Center for Girls (girl must reside in one of the above zip codes)
  • Carver Middle School
  • Memorial Middle School
  • Meadowbrook Middle School
  • Evans High School
  • Jones High School

What makes a girl eligible for REACH?

No one specific thing makes a girl eligible for REACH. However PACE Reach specializes in working with girls and families who may struggle in one or more of these areas:

  • She may be struggling with her attendance to school
  • She may be displaying behavioral issues at home and/or at school
  • She may be falling behind or struggling with her academics.
  • She may be on the wrong path and heading towards involvement in the juvenile court system.
  • She may come from a family who is struggling financially
