The Community Foundation of Pasco County has awarded PACE Pasco $5,000 to support its Transition Services program. Transition Services at PACE allows girls to set individual educational and social goals that are focused on earning a high school diploma or GED, re-entering public school, attending college, getting vocational training, joining the military or entering the private workforce.
While at PACE, girls participate in vocational, personal finance, and independent living skills groups, take vocational interest and aptitude tests, research career options, and attend field trips to post-secondary educational institutions. In addition, PACE provides assistance with college, scholarship, financial aid, and employment applications, maintains a college catalogue library, and provides career counseling to current and transition girls. After program completion, PACE continues to monitor and support each girl's educational and personal development with three years of comprehensive follow-up services.
