Revamped Booker T. Washington Community Center reopens in Pleasant Hill
MACON, Ga -- Macon's Booker T. Washington Community Center is finally reopening with a revitalized and rejuvenated look.
“The Booker T. Washington Center will serve as a hub of community resources and programs that will greatly benefit the families in Historic Pleasant Hill and our entire community,” says Community Enhancement Authority Executive Director Tedra Huston.
“I’m very excited we’re able to help provide these greatly needed services, and I’m especially excited for the new Mental Health Matters initiative – which will be headquartered here – to begin its work in the next several weeks,” says Macon Mayor Lester Miller.
The Center will be home to the Southern Center for Choice Theory, C-Qul, Pace Center for Girls, Melanated Communities, the Eric Foundation, Mosaic Development, the Booker T Washington Reunion Committee, the Vexiom Group, and the Community Enhancement Authority. Additionally, AARP and Central Georgia Technical College will host regular programming.
