Pace Center for Girls Announces New Chief Program Officer
Pace Center for Girls (Pace), a nationally recognized model that provides education, counseling, training and advocacy for girls and young women, proudly announces the appointment of Teddy Thompson as Chief Program Officer effective July 3.
Since 2018, Thompson has led sustainable funding and growth as the Chief Advancement Officer of Pace. In 2019, Pace embarked on a national expansion strategy using a community participatory action model grounded in the needs, issues, concerns, and strategies of communities to achieve transformation and social change. Under his leadership, Pace has experienced a significant 20% growth in revenue, expanded operations to 25 communities and established itself as a leading advocate for girls.
“We are fortunate and grateful to have such incredible internal talent in Teddy who has supported thousands of girls and helped Pace grow its presence in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina,” said Mary Marx, Pace President and CEO. “His expertise and proven record of community impact will continue to strengthen our model, inspire team members and core to our mission, support our girls.”
As Chief Program Officer, Thompson will oversee programmatic operations, and quality improvement for Pace’s programs and services. In his new role, he will advance Pace’s commitment to invest in the communities and girls Pace serves.
“As Pace grows to serve more girls in more communities, human connection is more important than ever to ensure our impact and programming are sustainable,” said Thompson. “Our girls and team members are ready for continued growth, and I am honored to continue this meaningful work as Pace’s Chief Program Officer.”
A search committee supported by the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group (NPAG) recommended Thompson from nearly 200 local, state and national applicants.
Thompson has a deep passion for working on behalf of youth, ensuring barriers don’t limit access to critical academic and social services. Prior to joining Pace, he served as Vice President of Resource Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, one of the largest in the country, where he was responsible for leading board development and fundraising. He also served as a National Director of Corporate and Cause Partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs of America where, under his leadership, he was responsible for a corporate development team, securing over $80M in revenue.
